Community Guidelines

These Guidelines set out the standards to follow when using LoudClip's community features (display names, publishing, voting, and adoption). These Guidelines form an integral part of the Terms of Service (Terms of Service, Article 2(8)) and provide the specific standards for the prohibited conduct set out in Article 5 of the Terms.

1. Purpose of These Guidelines

LoudClip is a space for language learning. The community features exist so that members can share the learning materials they create and learn together. These Guidelines are the minimum standards needed to prevent conduct that undermines that purpose; they are not intended to restrict your expression unnecessarily.

2. Amendments to These Guidelines

Under Article 3(3) of the Terms of Service, amendments to these Guidelines fall into two categories:

  • Substantive changes — establishing a new category of prohibited conduct in Sections 3 or 4 below, or changing them in a way unfavourable to members. These follow the procedure in Article 3(2) of the Terms (announced at least 30 days before taking effect).
  • Non-substantive changes — adding specific examples to an existing category or clarifying wording. These may be announced concurrently with their effect.

The examples given under each category are illustrative rather than exhaustive. Conduct that falls within a category is prohibited even if it is not listed as an example.

3. Standards for Display Names and Activity IDs

Your display name and activity ID are shown publicly to other members. The following display names and activity IDs may not be used.

3.1 Impersonation and Confusion

Names that present you as another person or organisation, or that are likely to cause confusion as to identity.

Examples: using the name of a real person, institution, or company as though you were that party; impersonating LoudClip staff.

3.2 Profanity and Insults

Profanity, vulgar language, or expressions that insult a specific person.

3.3 Hate Speech

Expressions that attack or demean a group on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, age, or similar characteristics.

3.4 Advertising and Promotion

Advertising of products or services, driving traffic to external sites, or names containing contact details or URLs.

3.5 Other

Content that violates applicable law, infringes the rights of others, or is harmful to minors.

4. Standards for Published Content

Decks and videos you publish can be discovered and adopted by other members. The following content may not be published.

4.1 Rights Infringement

Content that infringes the rights of others, including copyright and trademark rights.

4.2 Hate and Discrimination

Content containing hate speech, on the same standard as Section 3.3.

4.3 Sexual or Violent Content

Sexually explicit or excessively violent content, or content harmful to minors.

4.4 Advertising and Spam

Advertising unrelated to learning, meaningless content published repeatedly or in bulk, or content whose primary purpose is to drive traffic to external sites.

4.5 Content Unrelated to Learning

Content that is not related to language learning.

4.6 Personal Information

Content containing personal information about you or others (real names, contact details, addresses, and similar).

⚠️ Take particular care before publishing. Where another member has adopted your published content, the adopted copy remains as that member's own material even if you withdraw the publication or delete your account (Terms of Service, Article 6(5)). This protects the adopting member's learning materials — but it also means that personal information, once published, cannot be recalled. Please check that your content contains no personal information before publishing.

5. Measures for Violations

Measures for violations of these Guidelines are governed by Article 11 of the Terms of Service. In summary:

  • We act in stages, in proportion to the nature and severity of the violation — warning, making content private, display name reset, compulsory activity ID change, community feature suspension, account suspension, and permanent suspension.
  • We notify you of the grounds and give you an opportunity to respond before taking a measure. For a display name reset, you are given seven (7) days to make corrections after notice.
  • Only where the conduct constitutes unlawful activity or an imminent threat to the safety of others may we take a measure first and notify you without undue delay thereafter.
  • Even if your community features are suspended, learning features remain fully available. The violation occurred in the community area, so we do not restrict the learning features you paid for.
  • You may appeal any measure, and we will respond with the outcome within seven (7) business days of receiving your appeal. No time limit applies to submitting an appeal.
  • If it is established that our determination was in error, we lift the measure immediately and extend your subscription period by the duration of the restriction.

7. Changes to These Guidelines

Changes to these Guidelines follow the procedure in Section 2. In the event of any conflict between the Korean and English versions, the Korean version shall prevail. However, this does not deprive consumers of the protections afforded to them by mandatory law.
